Motokane Nakiri Knife 165 mm is a Japanese forged knife, handcrafted by a master from the Tosa region, which has over 400 years of blacksmithing tradition. This is not a factory-stamped product, but entirely handmade, where quality directly depends on the smith's skill.

The blade is forged from high-grade Hitachi Aogami #1 steel, one of the best carbon steels for knives. Through repeated forging, the metal is densified, impurities are removed, and a fine-grained structure is achieved. The result is high hardness, excellent toughness, and an aggressive, "gripping" sharpness.

The nakiri shape is specifically designed for vegetable work: chopping, dicing, julienning. The wide blade provides control and convenience, and the knife's own weight allows it to cut with almost no effort — it practically "falls" through the ingredient.

The Kurouchi finish (black forging) not only enhances authenticity but also makes signs of wear less noticeable. The straight, carefully honed cutting edge and even blade geometry are the result of meticulous hand finishing.

The walnut handle is lightweight, warm to the touch, and fits comfortably in the hand. The classic round shape accommodates different grips.

The knife is coated with a protective anti-corrosion lacquer. On first use, the cut may be slightly less sharp — after the layer is removed (through use or sharpening), the knife reveals its full sharpness potential.
